Unexpected Gifts

Today was one.

Today we headed to hang out with our friends. 

Both of us Mommies had had rough mornings, and the forecast called for rain. 

We had already had to reschedule this particular play date because of earaches and general household and toddler type issues.

But instead of rain, like every other day this week, we had sun.

And a lovely lunch on the patio.

(And a few glasses of wine.)

And Wednesday was originally not going to be this much fun for anyone.

But instead, it was.

Sometimes unexpected gifts are the sweetest of all.

Today was one.

Evelyn Rae is 21 months old, Liam is 3 months old TOMORROW

...and I bought those shorts for Evelyn last summer and have been waiting this whole time for her to be able to wear them. Thank goodness for the sunshine.
